Chris Nichols

CEO

I started with FCH in August of 2017.  I’m a native of Grand Island, NE, and am a licensed physical therapist, graduating from the University of Nebraska Medical Center’s PT Program in 1998.  After working as a staff PT and becoming a department manager early in my career, I decided to further study healthcare management and attended the University of Minnesota’s ISP Program in Healthcare Administration from 2003 – 2006.  My first full-time administrative role was with Mary Lanning Healthcare in Hastings as the Program Director of a brand new Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit, and later this same role in my hometown hospital – St. Francis in Grand Island.  In April of 2013 I accepted my first hospital CEO position at Horn Memorial Hospital in Ida Grove, Iowa.  My family and I lived in Ida Grove, IA, for four and a half years.  With the goal if moving closer to home, after evaluating several opportunities I chose to move my family back home to Geneva, NE to accept the CEO position of Fillmore County Hospital.  The main reason for this was the culture of kindness and warm feelings that my family and I received from the people at FCH from the very first contact I had with people here.

I have been married since 2000 to my wife, Jaci, who is also a physical therapist.  We have three children – Garrett, Abby, and Ali.  I’m an avid Nebraska Cornhusker fan and also enjoy golf, fishing, and traveling.  My favorite think to do is spending time quality time with my family and attending my kids’ various sporting events and activities.
