Deb Domann
Director of Operations
I was born in SE Iowa and grew up in small towns there. My first “real job” was in a small hospital doing housekeeping and that’s what put me on the curvy road that got me to Fillmore County Hospital. I became interested in what the Lab Techs there did to help providers and patients and that’s what I went to college for. I’ve worked in many healthcare settings in a variety of roles for almost 40 years (housekeeping, phlebotomy, Medical Technology, Software installation and training, Lab Manager and now Director of Operations at FCH).
I started at our hospital in 2002 and except for a 3 year gap to work for the software vendor, I’ve been here since. I love this place because of the people I get to work with and those we get to serve. I love it because we can focus not only on the clinical and financial aspects of the hospital, but because we can focus on our Values and our Culture, on how we treat people, patients, families, employees and providers. I love my current role because I get to spend every day helping people find better ways to do what we do and to do it all in the best way we can. Big hospitals have their purposes and we need them, but I am so grateful to be able people HERE, close to their homes and families.
I started out in SE Iowa, but I’m quite happy in Nebraska. When I’m not at the hospital, I’m doing as many outdoor activities as possible. My favorite things involve training and trialing my herding dogs and raising puppies and sheep. I also spend as much free time as I can with my family and the very best friends anyone could ask for. Life is GOOD.
