Podiatry is the professional care and treatment of people’s feet. Although you may take them for granted, your feet and their health affect everything you do. Whether you spend all day moving around or work sitting down at a desk, your feet help you support your weight and get around. When your feet are in pain or not functioning properly, you feel it all day long.

Services can include but are not limited to Achilles Tendonitis, Ankle Fracture Care and Repair, Ankle Sprains and Arthroscopy, Correction of Bunions and Hammertoe, Deformity Correction, Diabetic Foot Care, Flat Feet and Neurological Foot Treatment, Heel Pain and Plantar Fasciitis, Sports Medicine and Biomechanics, Total Ankle Replacement, Treatment of Arthritis, Treatment of Nerve, and Skin and Nail Conditions.

Dr. Kara Krejci-Reed, DPM

Availability: Second and Fourth Wednesday of Every Month

Dr. Kara Krejci is a Board Certified Doctor of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Krejci recently completed a one-year sports medicine, trauma, and reconstructive fellowship at Pennsylvania Orthopaedic Center, in Malvern, Pennsylvania. She also completed residency training with certification in rearfoot and ankle surgery in Scranton, Pennsylvania at Geisinger Community Medical Center where she received extensive training in diabetic foot care, wound care, limb preservation, and deformity correction. Her areas of interest and expertise include: ankle arthroscopy, correction of bunions and hammer toes, treatment of arthritic, nerve, skin and nail conditions, flatfoot and neurologic foot corrections, total ankle replacements, and ankle fracture repair with external fixators. Dr. Krejci enjoys traveling, biking, hiking, waterskiing, and reading. A native of Springfield, Nebraska she is happy to be back in her home state and excited to join the Prairie family.

James Lewandowski, MD

Mid Nebraska Foot Clinic

Availability: Second and Fourth Thursday of Every Month

Dr. Jim Lewandowski graduated from Des Moines University in 1991 and has been serving patients in the Hastings, NE, area ever since then. For 27 years, Dr. Lewandowski has been helping Nebraska residents recover from foot injuries and ailments. Dr. Lewandowski treats the following conditions: Athlete’s foot, bunions, corns, flat feet, gout, hammertoes, heel pain, ingrown toenails, neuroma, orthotics, plantar warts, sesamoiditis, and stress fractures. No matter your foot ailment, Dr. Lewandowski can help diagnose and treat it. His personal approach and courteous and friendly staff will put you at ease and help make your doctor’s visit a positive experience.

TANNER M. DODSON, DPM

Podiatry

Prairie Orthopaedic & Plastic Surgery

Availability: First and Third Wednesday of Every Month

Dr. Dodson is a Board Qualified practicing Doctor of Podiatric Medicine. He grew up in North Platte, Nebraska and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science degree at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln before continuing his education and obtaining a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Des Moines University College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery. After completion of medical school, he completed residency training in Illinois, with specialized training at the Veterans Affairs hospital in Danville and Carle Foundation Hospital in Champaign-Urbana, where he studied under many skilled physicians and surgeons. 

He has specialized training to treat all types of foot and ankle medical and surgical conditions, including management of arthritic conditions of the foot and ankle, correction of bunion and hammertoes, treatment of painful flat feet or high arch foot types, foot and ankle fracture repair, and diabetic foot care and wound care, including limb salvage. 

Dr. Dodson is excited to be back in his home state of Nebraska following residency completion, as his family is still located in the state. He enjoys outdoor activities including hiking, boating, and grilling, and is looking forward to cheering on Husker athletics for many seasons to come.
