About Fillmore County Hospital
Fillmore County Hospital is a county owned Critical Access Hospital with 20 acute care beds, a 24/7 Emergency Department, an extensive outpatient behavioral health program, and a full array of outpatient and specialty clinic services. Previously located in a landlocked location close to downtown on “old Highway 81”, we constructed a beautiful new facility out on the Highway 81 bypass road that has allowed for significant growth of our services and space as well as better access for our patients. We opened the doors to our new state-of-the-art hospital campus on March 1, 2012.
Historically our county has recognized the health care needs of its residents and the first hospital was built before World War I. Today, our hospital is staffed by a dedicated health care team with the needs of our patients being our common purpose. We look for ways to offer needed services and technologies to serve the people of Fillmore County and surrounding areas in a patient centered way, close to their own homes.
We strive to constantly help our patients improve their mental and physical health and we take special care to assure their safety and wellbeing. It is our intent that our patients are given the education and assistance they need to take an active role in their health and to partner with our healthcare professionals to live their best lives.
Leadership Team
The Leadership Team is charged with running the day to day operations of the hospital. It’s their responsibility to evaluate and communicate the needs of the providers, patients and employees to the Hospital Board. They gather information and implement needed changes that improve the quality and efficiency of care in the facility. It is also their responsibility, along with the Hospital Board, to identify strategic initiatives and implement a strategic plan. They also ensure, with the help of department heads and all other hospital employees, that all our departments are functioning in the safest, most efficient and compliant manner to appropriately provide exceptional care for our patients.
