On March 28th, the FCH Foundation hosted our 2026 Gala event. It was a celebration of all of the wonderful things that take place at the hospital, with so many positive themes of community throughout the night. In total, the event raised over $230,000 and was attended by 450 people. The funds raised will help purchase a device that will assist surgeons with precision and accuracy, a mini “C-Arm”. It is a medical imaging device that provides real-time, high-resolution imaging and enables surgeons to monitor procedures to make precise adjustments during procedures. It’s become vital to several of our surgeons, including Dr. Lawrence’s growing practice.
We were treated to a heartfelt, inspirational story of one of the country’s most prominent astrophotographers, Jon Carmichael. He shared not only the images he took, but the stories behind what he had to go through to get the images. His theme of handling rejection, perseverance, and never letting go of your goals was moving and struck a chord with many.
The spirit of the night tied into the theme, “There’s No Place Like Home.” One of the highlights of the night was an eleven-minute testimonial video highlighting stories of three of our patients. Their collective message about the hospital being there for them and having those amenities close to home captured a lot of meaning and emotion and connected to our theme. We share it widely here for you to access below. I encourage you to watch it in its entirety!
Now more than ever, the support you give our hospital makes a difference. Gifts, large or small, leave a legacy for an institution that will carry on when we are all gone. That is a powerful idea, and for many who work in healthcare it gets at the core of why we do what we do. We thank you for your trust in us to be your healthcare provider of choice, both now and in the future.
With gratitude,
Chris Nichols, CEO
