Fillmore County Hospital Foundation Scholarship
The Fillmore County Hospital Foundation believes that the strength of rural communities depends on having exceptional healthcare close to home. In support of this mission, the Foundation established an annual scholarship in 2023 to assist high school seniors who live in or attend school in Fillmore County and plan to pursue a career in a health-related field. The goal of this scholarship is to ease the financial burden of education and encourage local graduates to advance their training in healthcare.
The $5,000 scholarship is awarded in two installments, paid directly to the educational institution in which the recipient is enrolled. The first installment of $1,000 is issued prior to the start of the student’s first academic year. After successfully completing the first year with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and continuing enrollment in a healthcare-related field, the remaining $4,000 will be paid to the educational institution.
This scholarship reflects the Foundation’s strong commitment to “growing our own” healthcare workforce. By investing in local students, encouraging them to pursue their passion, and inspiring them to eventually bring their skills and expertise back home, we help ensure a strong and sustainable future for healthcare in Fillmore County.
