Kelsey Swartz MA, LMHP

Mental Health Therapist

My name is Kelsey Swartz, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Practitioner. I received my Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, graduating with a major in Child, Youth, and Family Studies, as well as minors in Psychology, Sociology, and Education. During my undergrad, I began working in the mental health field, serving children and families, where I quickly found my passion advocating for mental health needs. I went on to continue my education at Doane University, receiving my Master’s degree in Counseling in 2022.

Having grown up in rural Nebraska, I saw the need for and importance of mental health services in rural areas. When I decided to move back and raise my family in Fillmore County, I quickly became excited to learn about the amazing resources Fillmore County Hospital had to offer regarding behavioral health. I joined the team in 2024 and everyday I continue to be in awe at the amount of support, dedication, and collaboration this team provides to individuals and the surrounding areas.

I have provided therapy services in a variety of settings including the public school systems and other behavioral health treatment facilities. Since being with FCH, my primary role is providing individual therapy to students in surrounding public schools, as well as providing individual therapy through FCH’s outpatient setting. I have a passion for working with children and adolescents.

My experience includes working with individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, impulsivity, disruptive behaviors, trauma, grief, hyperactivity, emotional dysregulation, low self-esteem, and difficult life transitions. I believe in adapting my approach to fit the needs of each individual. I create a flexible, supportive environment, meeting individuals where they are at in life, to foster a genuine connection and create progress.
