SHARI MICHL

Director OF QUALITY

My name is Shari Michl and I am the Director of Quality at Fillmore County Hospital. I have lived in Exeter since 1974 when my Dad retired from the Air Force and we moved to my Mom’s home town. I graduated from Exeter High School in 1977 and from St. Francis School of Nursing in 1980.  I married my husband Alan in 1980 and we have a wonderful family: our daughter Allison Bitz and her husband James and our son Nathan and his wife Abby; and 3 grandkids: Evie and Jonah Bitz and Cason Michl. When I’m not at work, you will likely find me reading, cooking,  or spoiling the grandkids.

I have worked in a variety of settings in my career as a Registered Nurse: Home Health/Hospice, Nursing Home and School Nursing; but most of my years have been in hospital acute care. I have served over 30 years here at Fillmore County Hospital.  In my current role, I oversee Quality Improvement, Infection Prevention and Emergency Preparedness. In 2017, I joined an elite group of healthcare professionals by earning my Certified Health Quality Professional certification. I am a past president and current member of the Nebraska Association for Healthcare Quality, Risk and Safety and a member of the Nebraska Hospital Association Rural Quality Steering Committee.

I love rural Nebraska and the people who live here!  I am honored to be part of providing care to my neighbors, friends and family; that’s what makes working at Fillmore County Hospital special. I’m proud to be part of a team that works hard every day to provide exceptional patient care!
