Michaela Houchin was born and raised on a farm outside of Hebron, NE.  She graduated from Thayer Central High School. She continued her education at Bryan College of Health Sciences where she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography and minor in Healthcare Management.  She received her Master of Physician Assistant Studies in December 2018 from the University of Nebraska Medical Center.  

Throughout her education she hoped to return to a rural area and serve a community like the one she grew up in.  After completing a family medicine clinical rotation at Fillmore County Medical Center, she knew that this would be a perfect fit for her.  She and her husband, Michael, are recently married. He is from Bruning, NE and farms in the area. They look forward to returning close to home and spending time with family, friends, and their dog, Marley.
